Monday’s Minutes
In case you are new here or you happened to miss Monday’s issue, let me catch you up to speed. We didn’t post on one of our four pillars; instead, we offered a gentle reminder about the significance of granting oneself grace during challenging times.
In the quiet moments since her passing, I find peace in the memories of my grandmother, a gentle soul whose words still echo in my heart: "I wouldn't make too much of it." With each whisper of this familiar phrase, she offered a reminder to temper my worries and fears with perspective.
To her, the enticements of worldly concerns held little sway. Material possessions, fleeting accolades … these were mere distractions in the vast tapestry of life. Instead, she sought solace in the simplicity of daily existence, in the quiet act of showing up and doing what was right.
Her faith in our Lord was her cornerstone, the foundation upon which she built a life of profound significance. In the depths of her devotion, she found the strength to transcend the petty grievances of the world and to extend boundless love and compassion to all who crossed her path.
For her, the measure of a life well-lived lay not in the grandeur of achievements or the accumulation of wealth, but in the depth of one's love and the impact they had on others. She understood that true richness lay not in material abundance, but rather in the richness of human connection, in the bonds forged through kindness and empathy.
As I reflect on her legacy, I am reminded of the power of her words: "I wouldn't make too much of it." In a world consumed by the relentless pursuit of success and status, her wisdom serves as a beacon of clarity. So let us remember her philosophy by living each day with humility and compassion. Let us remember that, in the end, it is not the things we acquire or the titles we hold that define us; rather, it’s the love we give and the lives we touch along the way.
