Monday’s Minutes
In case you are new here or you happened to miss Monday’s issue, The Power of Coachability, let me catch you up to speed. I spoke on the skill of coachability and the significance it can have on any individual, regardless of level or industry.
Have you ever taken a moment to ask yourself: Who am I? Where do I come from? What are my dreams? These questions, though seemingly simple, carry profound weight. Often, we find ourselves wrestling with self-doubt, whispering thoughts like, "I'm not good enough” or "I don't have a clear path.” It's easy to get caught up in our perceived shortcomings, yearning to be someone we're not and beating ourselves up about it.
But pause for a moment. Take a deep breath and observe your surroundings. What do you see? To your left, there's a businessman in a sharp suit. Behind you, an engineer is deep in calculations. And to your right, a doctor chats with colleagues in white coats. It's tempting to compare our lives to these apparent "chosen ones.”
But why?
Let me share some invaluable advice – you might want to pause your podcast for this. Ready? We are all capable of extraordinary impact regardless of the gifts we have been given.
You might not be signing million-dollar contracts, crunching numbers, or performing surgeries. But does that really matter? Your uniqueness shines through in different ways. Perhaps you have an extraordinary capacity for empathy or an innate talent for connecting with others. Your determination radiates from the very core of your being.
If you were to ask those closest to you what makes you unique, they'd undoubtedly share an extensive list of beautiful attributes.
So, why can't you?
You are unlike anyone else in this world, past, present, or future. Your quirks, talents, and experiences weave together to form a tapestry of individuality that is unparalleled. You matter. You are significant.
Today, with this piece, I aim to inspire hope and optimism, encouraging you all to reflect on your unique traits and gifts. Remember, you are a special, irreplaceable being with the power to pursue your dreams – dreams that others may scoff at or even criticize.
In a world often overwhelmed by conformity, dare to embrace your authenticity. Welcome the journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. You are not defined by society's standards of success; rather, you are defined by the richness of your character, the use of your given gifts, and the depth of your soul.
So, go forth with confidence and illuminate the world with your presence.
